I Used To Look Like A Worn Out Middle Aged Dad
Back in 2011 I was unfit, out of shape and spent most of my time stressed out.
It wasn't easy.
Having 2 kids under the age of 5 was real hard work and it had taken it's toll on the relationship that myself and my wife had with each other.
It doesn't mean that I didn't care about my kids - far from it. It was just tiring.
I remember justifying working 14-16 hour days on us having big mortgages, car loans and high credit cards, but the reality was that I used this as a distraction.
The longer I was at work the easier it was for me to run away from the issues we had at home.
Drinking Too Much
Then when I was at home I would use booze as a way of relaxing.
Just a couple of those large 660ml bottles of peroni or a couple of large Jack Daniels with lemonade.
I kept telling myself that it was the best way to relax, but looking back I can see that once again I was using this as a way of numbing the whole reality of my life at that time.
The result of me not looking after myself, drinking too much and getting stressed all the time?
Chronic illness - specifically in my stomach. This led to frequent trips to the hospital, very little sleep and just all round ineffectiveness.
I wasn't fulfilling my role as a father or a husband. I wasn't the inspirational role model that I had always dreamt of becoming.
I was a mess.
The Turning Point
It was late in 2011 and I needed to buy myself a new work suit (before I became a PT). I took a trip to John Lewis and to my horror the trousers I tried on were too small around the waist - they were size 36".
Then 2 days later I was over at my parent's house and they pulled out some holiday snaps from when we were away with them in the Summer. I saw myself playing with my daughter (see right) and couldn't believe it. I looked old, tired and I could see moobs starting to form!
These 2 things close together were my wake up call.

Who is this for?Men between the ages of 35 and 55 that are NOT already fit.
This is about targeting fat loss – specifically from around the stomach area. For guys that want to get their body confidence back and rediscover their passion for life.

How does the program work exactly?Each week a new workout routine and exercise workout videos are released. Along with motivation videos and nutrition tips. By drip feeding the info it helps to stay focused and not get overwhelmed.
They progressively get harder as the weeks go on so that by week 6 you will be amazed at how much fitter and stronger you are.

What sort of workouts are they?Most of them are no more than 20 minutes long. They are designed to be high fat burning workouts that you can do from home. They are highly effective and will have your metabolism still torching fat throughout the day. Body weight exercises.

These workouts are body weight workouts. Given that your body will probably weigh at least 80kg – that is more than enough weight to be using for now.

Why don't we use weights?Contrary to popular belief your body is actually a great weight to be using. Once you have your base fitness in place and are able to perform all bodyweight exercises to a high intensity then you will be ready to move on to equipment based exercises.

Really only 20 minute workouts?Absolutely. It’s a myth that you have to go to the gym to workout for an hour three times per week before you see any results. Intensity is more important than duration for fat loss.
