Does Your Body Reflect Success?

luxury

I I I

I used to think that I was doing alright for myself.

Late 20’s driving around in a top of the range Audi A6.

3 properties to our name.

Jointly owned our own business with multi million £ turnover.

Life was pretty cool.

Nice holidays.

Lots of nights away in hotels and top restaurants.

This all went on for a few years.

Then

2 kids came along

And

…before I knew it my body had completely changed shape.

It was bugging me for years, yet I couldn’t put my finger on

exactly why.

The thing is my body was not a true reflection of success, and this niggled me.

There was a a slight edge taken off my usual confidence and swagger.

Having to hold my gut in because I was wearing a nice fitted designer shirt.

(when you wear a fitted shirt with a smaller waist and larger chest it feels completely different)

These days I’ve swapped shirts and suits for jogging bottoms and tracky tops, but I still like them to feel fitted.

It wasn’t just at work though.

I actually used to feel a bit old / middle aged and dad like when we went on holiday.

It’s all very well hiding your fat bits with strategic clothes while at work but if we

went somewhere hot for our holidays, this was impossible.

It then became the middle aged gut and moob show.

This didn’t reflect the success that I was having elsewhere and it pissed me off.

I can hear some reading this now saying

“that’s your own confidence issues that you have to deal with”

“you should feel good about yourself regardless of the way that you look”

That’s all good by the way.

But

having now gone through a full body transformation myself,

and now feeling confident about taking my top off on Summer holidays and looking in great shape I can assure you that I much prefer the latter.

I get to talk to loads of guys that are super successful at work.

I’ve trained ex Olympic athletes, millionaires, business owners, and senior business executives and as successful as they are in the work place, their body doesn’t reflect this.

Once they have changed their nutritional habits, and got into a regular exercise routine that fits in with work everything starts to change though.

There is a change to the way that they carry themselves.

There is a boost in energy levels.

There is a surge in productivity.

….and as the body starts to change shape and the gut starts to diminish that spring in the step starts to resurface.

Who would you rather look like?

Christian Bale in Batman?

Daniel Craig in James Bond?

OR

Ricky Gervais in The Office

John Travolta in Pulp Fiction

C’mon, make sure that you exude success in all areas of your life.

After all, what’s the point in investing in a nice suit, nice shoes, nice shirt, nice tie, nice car, nice watch, nice home…….if you then look like every other big belly middle aged guy when you take your clothes off? –

Finish the job off and get yourself in great shape.

Ricky
