Whether you’re rich or poor, successful
or unsuccessful, famous or not…….
the one thing that every single one of us
shares is that time is ticking against us.
Felix Dennis says in his book that even though
he has made billions, money cannot give him
his youth back. Or his health back.
He sadly passed away last year – very rich, but also
very lonely.
It’s just too easy to take for granted when you’re younger.
Most of us are given a healthy body when we are born.
In fact it’s so healthy that we can get away with
eating crap food when we’re younger and not see
any difference to our body composition.
The problem with this though is that bad habits are created
as kids that we then take into adulthood.
Crappy food is then joined by beer, wine and fags.
Constant abuse of the once healthy body we were given.
But hey, until something goes wrong we think we’re
invincible – right?
We’re married.
We have kids.
They all love us regardless – so there’s not point in
making any effort.
Then one day (for me this was when I was 35)
I saw some photos of me on the beach with my
kids and I had the onset of
MOOBS!
WTF!
When did that happen!
That was my wake up call.
Time to start undoing years of abuse.
For 17 years I had been suffering with a
chronic stomach condition that literally
had be doubled up in pain for 2 weeks at a
time.
These episodes were happening every
6 months or so.
No coincidence that as soon as I started getting
myself sorted with healthy nutrition and regular
exercise these episodes became less frequent
and appear now to have stopped altogether.
What will happen to your business should you have
a serious illness or health scare?
How long could it run without you being there to direct it?
If you have a high pressure senior exec role, how long
before your employers start looking for someone a bit younger?
…someone that takes care of themselves?
Deep down you know you have to get it sorted.
The hardest part is knowing where to start.
You keep telling yourself that you DON’T have time
to exercise or prepare healthy food.
I’m gonna call you out on that one.
It’s rubbish.
A better question to ask yourself is
” How can I find the time to exercise and start
to fuel my body with high energy foods?”
Now start coming up with some answers / solutions.
Just like you would if this was a business hurdle
that you had to overcome.
Oh, and the by-product of getting your health sorted?
- Improve productivity
- More active so can do more stuff with kids and friends, = better relationships
- More confidence
- More energy
- Higher sex drive
- More attractive to others
- Inspire others
- Look younger
- Live longer
Tick tock, tick, tock……
Time’s passing by.
