Low-Carb Beer: Mans Best Friend?

For many guys, the offer of a beer would be amazing, especially after a long day at work or on a hot bank holiday weekend. It can be a real thirst quencher and really help many guys to relax and enjoy life a little more.

However, beer is not necessarily the healthiest for us when it comes to our waistlines, as a beer contain a lot of calories. For example, a pint of Budweiser is 227 calories. So if you have 4 of those, then that adds up to 908 calories, which can be approaching half of many guys daily calorie allowance.

Therefore, the idea of a low-carb beer may sound quite appealing as they are likely to be much lower in calories. For example, a pint of Bud Light is only 165 calories compared to 227 calories in a regular Budweiser. Therefore this may allow us to keep on top of our fat loss progress a bit more, whilst still enjoying a couple of beers now and again, as the consequences of having a couple of low carb beers is much less than the regulars.

However, despite all this positive info, this doesn’t mean we can just go and have even more low carb beers than we normally would do. Reason being is that the alcohol content for many are not too dissimilar to the regular beers. Meaning that people can potentially get just as drunk and be just as effected by low carb beers as they can with regular beers. Therefore our inhibitions can be just as easily affected and thus our likelihood to make poor food choices will be just as great.

So, in summary, low-carb beers ca be a useful option if you still want to enjoy a beer or two, whilst also keeping on top of your progress. But remember, that doesn’t give you the license to go crazy on low-carb beers. As you can easily get just as drunk and just as easily make poor decisions after one too many.
