Short And Sharp Video Thoughts..

What would you say if your kids asked you this.....

My 9 year old son Harrison showing me how to do box jumps:
What does getting fitter and healthier mean to you?
For me, a big driving force has been to not only keep up with my very active kids but to inspire them to challenge themselves in doing things that normally they would not have the confidence to do.
I love my kids.
I love that they have witnessed a huge transformation in me from
'overweight and cuddly daddy"
to
A fit and healthy dad that they can model.
(chances are they will model our behaviours and actions whether they're good or bad so why not make them GOOD)
Their love for me hasn't changed but at a subconscious level they no longer associate getting old with being unfit and unable to do stuff with them.
They actually associate getting older (and grey - can't stop that one) with getting fitter, stronger and much more able to do things that they want to do.
Take box jumps.
The box in this video is high. There is no way that I would have attempted let alone successfully jumped on to this a few years ago.
However, once we got them in our gym my son watched me doing them.
At the age of 9, he then attempted to do the same....and nailed it.

WHY I exercise is more important than WHAT I exercise
